Introducing the MTD+ Stretched Edition
In response to increasing demand, Dale Drills has expanded its Mounted Tine Drill (MTD) range with the MTD+ Stretched Edition—designed to offer improved stability, enhanced residue flow, and greater operator convenience.
With recent drilling periods being affected by wet weather conditions, more farmers are turning to our mounted tine drills. Their lightweight, simple design, with no rolling element behind the drilling tines, makes them ideal for difficult drilling environments. The MTD+ was officially unveiled at LAMMA 2025, reinforcing Dale Drills’ commitment to innovation in direct drilling technology.
Key Enhancements & Technical Upgrades
Lower Centre of Gravity for Improved Stability
The redesigned 1-tonne capacity hopper has been lowered by 400mm, shifting the machine’s centre of gravity closer to the tractor. This allows the use of a relatively small tractor, reducing compaction risk and keeping establishment costs lower.
Front-Mounted Metering Unit for Easier Calibration
The metering system, powered by the top-of-the-range RDS Topcon control system, has been moved from the central unit to the front of the machine. This modification improves accessibility, allowing operators to calibrate from a more comfortable position—making setup quicker and more efficient.
Enhanced Trash Flow with Increased Tine Spacing
To further accommodate high-residue conditions, the 4 rows of tines now feature an extended front-to-back tine spacing of 600mm (previously 400mm). This redesign significantly improves trash clearance, reduces blockages, and ensures continuous, efficient drilling, even in fields with heavy crop residues.
Integrated Chassis Steps for Weight Efficiency
Weight distribution is crucial, which is why we have incorporated the steps into the chassis framework itself. This eliminates the need for additional mounting structures, resulting in a lighter yet structurally sound design that reduces unnecessary weight while maintaining durability.
