A new benchmark in drilling innovation
Dale Drills are proud to announce that we have won the LAMMA 2026 Arable Establishment Innovation of the Year Gold Award for our newly developed Electro-Hydraulic Seed Drill Control system.
This prestigious award recognises our continued commitment to creating practical, operator-focused innovations that improve drilling performance and make life easier for the user.
A Major Step Forward in Drill Control
Our new E Drill-Control system marks a significant advancement in seed drill operation. Designed for precision and efficiency, it allows operators to control all key hydraulic functions of our Eco range of seed drills directly from the tractor cab, even while working in the field.
Using an intuitive control screen and ergonomic joystick, operators can adjust tine down-pressure on the move. This makes it easy to respond instantly to changing soil conditions, ensuring consistent penetration, accurate seed depth, and effective soil packing. The result is more reliable crop establishment across a wide range of field conditions.
Simpler, More Efficient Hydraulics
The system uses the tractor’s load-sensing and power-beyond hydraulics, reducing the number of hydraulic hoses required. This simplifies coupling, improves efficiency, and helps lower fuel consumption.
E Drill-Control also manages folding and unfolding, fan operation, and includes a road-safe transport mode for added safety and convenience.
Built with Farmers in Mind
Developed in close collaboration with trusted UK suppliers and shaped by real-world customer feedback, the project was led by Dale Drills engineer Tom Crosbie. The result is a robust, user-friendly control system that delivers greater flexibility, responsiveness, and performance in modern drilling operations.
Winning the LAMMA 2026 Arable Establishment Innovation of the Year Gold Award is a proud moment for the entire Dale Drills team. It reinforces our dedication to delivering meaningful, practical innovations for farmers across the UK and beyond.
